| i think if ANYONE here could do a comparable quality job when it comes to drums as mason (element) then it would definitely be adam (mimic2402). adam is a metal/general music genius. |

good job supporting your own metal community guys. :/
I agree, the way Mason was dismissed here was fucking harsh and uncalled for. I doubt Charles would approve. That said, the prices listed here don't sound at all "affordable" to me.
who was dismissive? and what was harsh and uncalled for? my only qualm was with the 'affordable' prices which you agreed with.
element, I meant no offense. Simply saw some info and responded. id love to hear some examples of your work. best of luck in your quest for tone!
C'mon Adam, you know what I mean. I do agree with you and AMDurr, but what you guys did in this thread is kinda like going into McDonald's and shouting BURGER KING! Mason is a fellow metalhead and a local musician and as such, deserves more respect than that.
I had a good time working with you and Charles... no offense intended, I just calls 'em like I sees 'em.
Fair nuff. Definitely wasnt my intention to derail. |

those prices are very good actually, yea.
the drum tracking thing.. that is some hard work.. and 60 to 100 dollars a song for that. is actually cheap as well.
The German guys from Konzil that I am collaborating with are genius's at that sort of thing ( check my sig ).. But I don't know the first thing about that. I just do vocals, lyrics and keys lately. Don't want to be an audio engineer.
Velocity Productions is a cool name, btw.
I told Charles yesterday he should call his business Battlefrosties instead of Battlefrost.. cause we were talking about beer. I made the mistake of drinking a Natural Ice over there yesterday.. and it was horribly disgusting, but I need to have a beer when doing vocals, it loosens up the vocal chords.
We recorded some tracks over some dance beats that Holger and Guido sent me... and now we send them back to Germany to get a final mix. Should be interesting.. I did some spoken word vocals in German which made Charles and my brother laugh when I did them. But they came out good.
Is for the new collaboration project we are dong called Maschinengott ( check sig )

That's the idea. But realistically, in San Diego alone there maybe a handful of decent and capable drummers, but they are involved with 2 or 3 other projects. A hired drummer is worse than programming out drums nowadays. More expensive and you don't really end up with a good sounding result. |

And if memory serves, you're speaking from experience here. |

Ha ha, yep. The first Element album sounds so fucking terrible. It's too bad, because believe it or not, there are a few good songs on that album. Aeons Past is one of my strongest examples of my writing capabilities. I can't even stand listening to the album myself. Drums are awful, sloppy playing (no click track), loose and barely audible toms, floppy snare and toy keyboard kicks. The guitars are actually good, they were just eq'd incorrect. Too much 800hz - 1K. |
